  10. The Way of the Wisdom Warrior

THE WAY OF THE WISDOM WARRIOR is a project that began nearly 10 years ago while reading His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s wonderful book A Flash of Lightning in the Dark of Night, his commentary on Shantideva’s The Way of the Bodhisattva.  I decided that I would journal it as I read, and before long had started to doodle.  Those doodles turned into a story about a hapless Westerner and a wise monk exploring Shantideva’s text, seeking to extract the meaning behind the words in a fun, freewheeling adventure.  I’ve always meant to sit down and turn those doodles into real drawings, and finally I’ve begun.  Here are the first three pages, with many more to follow.  I’ll be posting some of the rough doodles, and unfinished pages as I go along, hoping to share a little of my process for those who may be interested.  Please feel free to post a comment or share a link.  Peace.
